Utkarsh Small Finance Bank welcomed Virender Sharma as Head – Micro Banking. He brings 25 years of expertise in rural banking, institutional finance, and microfinance operations. A seasoned leader who has consistently demonstrated success in driving sales growth, branch expansion, and financial performance.
Before joining Utkarsh, Virender served as President – MFIB & BC Business at AUSmallFinanceBank, where he built and led business correspondents while boosting a strong network for Rural Banking business. His prior leadership roles include serving as COO – JLG (Micro Banking & Individual Loans) at Swadhaar FinServe, and senior positions at Janalakshmi Financial Services, Barclays Bank, HSBC, ICICI Bank, and Whirlpool Corporation.
At Utkarsh, Virender will oversee the bank’s micro banking strategy, focusing on deepening rural outreach, enhancing operational efficiency, and empowering underserved communities through innovative financial solutions. His leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing Utkarsh’s mission of inclusive and sustainable growth.
