Chris Nicholas appointed as President and CEO at Walmart

Chris Nicholas appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer at Walmart. The appointment is a strategic move to strengthen the company’s global footprint while advancing its broader retail transformation.

With over three decades of deep global retail experience, he steps into the position after serving as President and CEO of Sam’s Club U.S., where he led efforts to enhance value, convenience and omnichannel growth for the membership-based retail division. Before that, he held senior leadership roles at Walmart, including executive vice president and chief operating officer of Walmart U.S., where he oversaw store operations, distribution, fulfillment and last-mile delivery.

He also held senior leadership positions at multinational retailers, including Tesco, Dansk Supermarked Group, Asda and Coles Group. He also served at Siemens for two years. In his new role, he will be leading Walmart’s international business and working with teams across global markets to drive innovation and growth.

He holds his academic qualification from The University of Manchester and CIMA. At Walmart, he will be overseeing international operations across 17 countries, guiding strategy, store execution, supply chain efficiency and market expansion outside the United States.

With this appointment, the company aims to focus on accelerating innovation, profitability, and long-term growth across its international markets.
