HDFC Bank has appointed Ajay Rana as the Deputy Vice President, Portfolio Management Group, Wholesale Credit – SME. Ajay brings over 23 years of experience in the banking and financial services sector, honing expertise in risk, legal, operations, and portfolio management.
Over the years, Ajay has worked with YesBank, Aditya Birla Capital, TatamCapital, StandardChartered Bank, and GECapital.
During his tenure at TataCapital as Cluster Collection Manager, Rana was responsible for monitoring and controlling delinquency and credit losses for secured loan products. Handling over 30 delinquent pools across Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. At Standard Chartered Bank, he was the Regional Foreclosure Manager – North, where he was an authorized officer of the bank and handled foreclosure and legal matters for 90+ DPD delinquent pool of home loans, SME & ME portfolio.
Ajay has consistently demonstrated expertise in negotiating loan restructures, driving recovery strategies, steering profitability, and strengthening compliance frameworks.
