“Recent disruptions around the Red Sea and Strait of Hormuz have highlighted how quickly global events can affect freight costs, transit times and vessel capacity. Another key challenge is maintaining reliability across the wider logistics chain, including trucking, rail evacuation, container availability and last-mile connectivity. Recent operational challenges at JNPA have underscored how constraints across inland connectivity can directly affect overall port efficiency and cargo movement. However, these challenges also create opportunities. Organizations need to move from reactive logistics to proactive supply-chain planning, supported by better forecasting, carrier diversification, alternative routing and contingency planning. Data, technology and stronger multimodal connectivity can further improve visibility and decision-making.”
