Over the last few weeks, Delhi’s air quality has declined sharply and currently hovers in the “severe” category, around 425 in the AQI. Looking into the seriousness of the situation, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) will implement Stage 3 of the GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan).
Under this initiative, authorities have banned non-essential construction and demolition, halted operations of stone crushers and hot-mix plants. It also includes restrictions on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in Delhi and in the neighboring NCR regions. Advisory for private companies to opt for work-from-home or hybrid models for a few days, while schools till Class 5 have been shifted to online classes.
