
Delhi witnessed a massive car blast in the heart of the city near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening. The blast resulted in nine fatalities and more than 20 injuries, according to official sources. The blast occurred at approximately 6:52 pm in a white Hyundai i20 car that suddenly erupted in flames at a red light near Gate No. 1 of the metro station. The explosion was so intense that multiple nearby vehicles were engulfed in fire, and surrounding buildings shook from the blast.
Security alert levels were raised in Delhi and across neighbouring states such as Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Public transport hubs and major infrastructure were placed under tight surveillance.
