Sajith Sivanandan, the former Chief Executive Officer of Disney+ Hotstar, will assume the role of President of Jio Mobile Digital Services. Sivanandan stepped down from the CEO role after the merger of Disney+ Hotstar with Reliance Viacom 18. This strategic move will bring immense experience in the digital streaming sector with the appointment of Sivanandan. In 2024, a joint statement was released by both companies upon their merger.

Sivanandan’s Journey
Mr. Sivavandan worked with Google for 14 years before joining Disney+ Hotstar in 2022. At his time at Google, he served as the Managing Director and Business Head of projects like Google Pay and Next Billion User Initiatives. At the beginning of his career, he worked with Star TV in 1996 and managed the North India Division for Channel V.
Sivanandan earned his Bachelor’s Degree in history from Hindu College in Delhi. He later obtained his business degree from the FORE School of Management in New Delhi.
From Hotstar to Jio
During Sivanandan’s tenure at Disney+ Hotstar, he focused on expanding the customer base and reach along with increasing the subscriber base. His initiatives positioned the platform as one of the leading streaming platforms in India. The creative content strategies and successful partnerships enhanced audience satisfaction and interaction.
