
Garuda Aerospace Private Limited recently raised $1 million in its Series B round to expand its drone manufacturing. The company is backed by the former Indian captain of cricket, MS Dhoni. The investment was led by the Narotam Sekhsaria Family Office with support from existing investors We Founder Circle.
The company was founded in 2015 by Agnishwar Jayaprakash to provide drone solutions to agriculture, smart industrial applications, and the defense segment. The freshly raised capital will be utilised to enhance its manufacturing capacity.
The company has over 500 trained pilots in 84 cities of India and has been manufacturing 30 types of drones. With a client base of over 750, the company is serving several sectors. Garuda Aerospace is also preparing for an upcoming IPO and exploring international opportunities. They are expected to export to 50 countries by 2025.
Kamlesh Paswan, the Union Minister of State for Rural Development, inaugurated Garuda’s new Agri-Drone Facility at Chennai. This launch is a milestone for the members of the Bharat Drone Association. The press release mentioned, “The launch also witnessed a dynamic live demonstration of Agri-Drones by highly skilled Drone Didis showcasing Garuda Aerospace’s commitment to fostering self-reliance and innovation within the burgeoning drone ecosystem.”
