Marico Limited Acquires PVR INOX’s Snacking Brand 4700BC for ₹226.8 Cr

Marico Limited has acquired premium snacking brand 4700BC from PVR INOX Limited for ₹226.8 crore in an all-cash transaction. This acquisition is a strategic expansion of its foods portfolio in the high-growth snacking segment.

The acquisition will deepen Marico’s presence in value-added and premium food categories, aligning with evolving consumer preferences for differentiated, indulgent, and branded snack offerings. Founded in 2013, 4700BC has established itself as a leading gourmet snacking brand in India, best known for its flavoured popcorn range and innovation-led product portfolio.

The addition of 4700BC complements its existing foods business and provides an opportunity to leverage its extensive FMCG capabilities, including large-scale manufacturing, supply chain efficiencies, distribution reach, and marketing expertise. The company aims to accelerate 4700BC’s growth by expanding its retail footprint, driving product innovation, and scaling the brand across new consumption occasions and formats. This acquisition reflects the broader consolidation trends in the FMCG sector, as established players look to acquire high-potential consumer brands to drive long-term growth.
