Orkun Saruhanoglu has been appointed to the position of CEO, DHL Supply Chain MEA, where he will directly report to Hendrik Venter, now CEO of DHL Supply Chain. This strategic move aims to fortify regional leadership, broaden logistics services, and enhance supply chain resilience across critical sectors including technology, automotive, aviation, energy, manufacturing, e-commerce, and fashion.
With over 27 years at DHL, Saruhanoglu comes with a proven track record, most notably having driven major growth in the inbound-to-manufacturing segment during his tenure as CEO of Central & Eastern Europe and contributing to the creation of ASMO, a joint venture between Aramco and DHL.
This appointment comes as DHL Group readies a €500 million investment across the Middle East, especially in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and capitalizes on growing opportunities across Africa, including rising e-commerce and improving infrastructure.
“Orkun brings strong expertise and a proven track record of enhancing end-to-end supply chain operations and customer development. His knowledge of DHL’s operations and commitment to our objectives will be invaluable and he will make a significant positive impact on the board. The MEA region within DHL Supply Chain is set for accelerated growth and having Orkun in the region will provide the required level of focus.” shared Hendrik Venter, CEO, DHL Supply Chain.
