QBE Re appointed Cindy Foo as its new Head of Asia. Based in Singapore, Ms. Foo will lead QBE Re’s treaty reinsurance expansion across Asia (excluding Japan, which will continue to be managed from London). She will report to Abdallah Balbeisi, Executive Director of Europe and Growth Markets.
Ms. Foo brings over two decades of reinsurance experience to the role, having held senior underwriting and client management positions at BerkleyRe Asia, AsiaCapitalRe, SwissRe, and MunichRe. Most recently, she served as Head of Underwriting / Branch Manager at Berkley Re Asia, building regional portfolios spanning multiple lines.
Under Foo’s leadership, QBE Re aims to cultivate a client-focused treaty franchise in Asia, integrating its wholesale (facultative) operations to deliver cohesive service across markets.
