Rapido Launches Ownly in Bengaluru with ₹20 Delivery Fee and Zero-Commission Model

Rapido has entered the food delivery segment with the launch of Ownly in Bengaluru, introducing a ₹20-30 delivery fee and a zero-commission model for restaurant partners.

With this move, Rapido, co-founded by Aravind Sanka, Pavan Guntupalli, and Rishikesh SR aims to disrupt the existing food delivery ecosystem by eliminating commission charges typically levied on restaurants and offering transparent pricing for customers.

Ownly will leverage Rapido’s extensive two-wheeler fleet and hyperlocal logistics network to enable efficient last-mile delivery across the city. The platform is positioned as a restaurant-first model, allowing partners to retain full margins while customers benefit from lower overall costs.

The expansion into food delivery marks a strategic diversification beyond mobility services. The zero-commission structure could significantly alter competitive dynamics in India’s food-tech market, particularly at a time when restaurant partners are increasingly seeking sustainable and margin-friendly alternatives. The Bengaluru rollout is expected to serve as a pilot phase, with potential expansion into other cities as the company scales operations.
