
Ravi Ranjan has stepped in as Managing Director at State Bank of India (SBI). He has been associated with SBI for more than 30 years and has led the organization through various leadership positions. As Managing Director, Ravi will oversee some of the bank’s most critical functions, including Risk Management, Compliance, and the Stressed Assets Resolution Group, according to SBI’s regulatory filing.
Ravi is a seasoned banker with more than 30 years of experience, he began his career at SBI as a Probationary Officer in 1991. Over the years, he has held several key leadership positions, contributing significantly to the bank’s operations and strategic initiatives. Prior to his elevation, he served as Deputy Managing Director at SBI, and earlier as Deputy Managing Director – Global Markets. His experience also includes heading the Corporate Accounts Group and serving as Chief General Manager of SBI’s Chennai Circle, overseeing operations across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Ravi has further strengthened his global perspective through his role as President and Chief Operating Officer at SBI Capital Markets and through overseas assignments in Hong Kong and Los Angeles, where he worked on debt syndications and international banking operations.
