Tata Motors appoints PB Balaji as the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover

Tata Motors has appointed PB Balaji as the new Chief Executive Officer of JLR, effective from November 2025. He will succeed Adrian Mardell, who is retiring after serving a 35-year tenure with the company. Balaji is currently serving as the Group CFO of Tata Motors, and over the years, he has worked closely with JLR.

PB Balaji has been associated with TataMotors since 2017. Before this, he served Hindustan Unilever Limited as CFO and in other leadership roles as well. With 32 years of experience in automotive and consumer goods, he has led global, dynamic teams across Mumbai, London, Singapore, and Switzerland. His appointment underscores Tata’s intention to deepen alignment and resilience across JLR’s global operations.

Mr. N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Jaguar Land Rover PLC, Tata Motors and Tata Sons, expressed, “I am delighted to appoint Balaji as the incoming CEO of the company. The search for a suitable candidate to lead JLR has been undertaken by the Board for the past few months, and after careful consideration, it was decided to appoint Balaji.”
