Coupang has announced the appointment of Debasish Sanpui as Senior Director – Engineering. This marks a strategic addition to its global technology leadership team, with his experience spanning end-to-end product engineering, platform scalability, and execution in dynamic, high-growth environments.
With three decades of deep expertise in engineering leadership, large-scale systems, and product-focused technology development. He served as Director of Software Development at Amazon, Senior Software Manager at GE, Project Lead at Cyient, and Project Manager at Secure Meters Limited. Over the course of his career, he has worked closely with cross-functional teams to design, scale, and operate complex engineering solutions, while building high-performing teams and driving operational excellence across fast-growing digital businesses.
His academic qualification is from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. In this role, he will help strengthen the company’s large-scale engineering platforms and advance its mission to build customer-centric, technology-driven commerce experiences. He is known for aligning technical strategy with business outcomes and fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
