India has officially entered the race to host the 2026 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, with Ahmedabad proposed as the lead city. A delegation featuring Union Sports Ministry officials, the Gujarat government, and the IOA president, P.T. Usha, presented the bid to the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne.
The bid leverages the iconic venues of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave and Narendra Modi Stadium, signalling India’s position as a global host for world-class events. India now joins contenders like Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
