Somrup Chanda has been appointed as General Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata and Ozone Convention Centre. This appointment reflects the organisation’s commitment to leadership excellence, driving excellence in guest experience, revenue performance, and operational efficiency as the property continues to strengthen its presence in the competitive Kolkata hospitality market.
With over two decades of rich and diverse experience in the hospitality industry, having worked with some of the most respected international hotel brands across India and the Middle East. He served as Director of Operations at Marriott International – India and Director of Food and Beverage at Yas Plaza Hotels by Aldar Hospitality.
He has served in senior positions at Accor, Marriott International, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Regency Pune Hotel & Residences, Park Hyatt, and Grand Hyatt Mumbai. Over the years, his vast experience has given him extensive operational and cultural experience across international markets.
His expertise spans hotel operations, revenue maximization, marketing, customer experience, and pre-opening leadership, making him well-positioned to lead Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata’s continued growth and performance. In his new role, he will focus on driving operational excellence, team development, guest-centred service delivery, and long-term commercial success, while further elevating the hotel’s brand value in the region.
