NatWest Group Appoints Gautam Kapadia as Director – Platform Lead, Trade Finance

Gautam Kapadia joins NatWest Group as the Director of Platform Lead  Trade Finance. As an accomplished leader in the BFSI domain, Gautam brings more than two decades of expertise in delivering large-scale transformation programmes across banking, trade finance, and commercial lending.

Before joining NatWest, Kapadia served as the Senior Associate Director – Trade Transformation at HSBC Software Development, where he led global deployments for flagship trade finance, supply chain, and asset distribution products across Europe, MENA, and the Americas. Gautam has worked with BankofAmericaMerrillLynch, ShoppersStop, and Citi. During his tenure at Citi, he led micro services, compliance, and reported project development. He was also responsible for change and deployment management across the APAC region.

In his new role, Kapadia will focus on strengthening NatWest’s trade finance platforms, driving innovation, and ensuring seamless customer experiences in an increasingly complex global trade ecosystem.

“My time at HSBC has been nothing short of an exciting adventure — from leading the deployment of Shariah-compliant Trade Finance products, to rolling out the Strategic Trade Finance platform across MENA and Europe, to building an e-signature platform to facilitate quick credit disbursement during the Covid pandemic… This journey has shaped me both professionally and personally, and I carry forward these lessons and relationships with deep appreciation,” Gautam shared his journey at HSBC.
