Sheldon Hee becomes Vice President for APAC at IATA

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has appointed Sheldon Hee as the Regional Vice President for the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Singapore, Hee will supervise the IATA’s operations and enhance aviation safety across the region, ensuring sustainability and connectivity. He is succeeding Philip Goh, who is retiring after serving a distinguished tenure.

Sheldon brings two decades of experience in the aviation industry. He has worked with Singapore Airlines for more than 15 years in Switzerland, the UK, Japan, and Singapore. He has led the company in leadership positions like Vice President, Partnerships and International Relations, and also as Vice President Marketing Communications and Development.

His extensive background varies in strategic planning, commercial operations, and stakeholder engagement, making him capable of navigating dynamic challenges in this sector. And in his new role, he will be collaborating with IATA member airlines, industry partners, and governments.

“Having spent my professional life in an airline, I am humbled and privileged to continue contributing at an industry level by leading IATA’s activities in Asia-Pacific. The region is vast and diverse, with states at different stages of aviation development. I see significant opportunity for the stakeholders across the region to work together to achieve the region’s potential,” expressed Hee.
