Padmanabhan Sankaranarayanan is appointed as the new Chairman of Tata Chemicals by the Board of Directors after the resignation of N. Chandrasekaran. Padmanabhan will be succeeding in the position on 30th May 2025, effective.

He has been associated with the Tata Group since 1982. He has worked with Tata Consultancy Services for 25 years and then transitioned to TATA Power. He had been the Chairman of the Governing Council of Business Excellence at TATA SONS LIMITED before becoming the Chairman at Tata Chemicals.

Further, Modan Saha is taking over as an Additional Director (Non-Executive, Non-Independent). Saha currently heads the strategic initiatives at Tata Sons.

The resignation of Chandrasekaran cited the need to reassess his current and future commitments. He expressed gratitude to the company and its board. He shared, “ It has been a privilege to chair the Tata Chemicals board, and I sincerely appreciate the support and collaboration during my tenure.”

The leadership transition marks a significant change in the organisation, aligning with the company’s ongoing strategic realignment efforts.
