Anant Ambani steps in as Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited
The youngest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, Anant Ambani has been appointed as the Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) for the next 5 years, effective 1st May, 2025. The appointment is a strategic move in RIL’s succession planning.
At the current moment, Anant has been serving as the non-executive director on RIL’s board since 2023. He has also been actively involved in the subsidiaries that come under Reliance, like Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, Reliance Energy Limited, Jio, and Reliance New Solar Energy Limited.
Anant has been contributing to bringing up initiatives like sustainability in the company. This aligns with Reliance Industries Limited’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2035. Promoting cleaner fuel production, carbon capture technologies, and circular material development.
Apart from his corporate responsibilities, Anant also established Vantara, a 3000-acre animal rescue and rehabilitation facility in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The rehabilitation centre was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in 2024. Vantara is contributing to wildlife conservation. This initiative earned the ‘Prani Mitra’ award from the Government of India.
