India’s Operation Sindoor Shakes Terror Networks in Pakistan
India made its bold and calculated move in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of last night, targeting multiple terrorist infrastructures deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Indian forces struck nine locations that are associated with terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed with advanced weapons like SCALP and HAMMER missiles. Muridke and Bahawalpur were targets of the strikes and were believed to be crucial centres for Pakistan-supported terrorists.
The Indian Ministry of Defence has emphasised the precision of the mission, stating that “no Pakistani military facilities were targeted,”. Pakistan reacted to the strikes as an act of war.
“Pakistan has every right to respond forcefully to this act of war imposed by India, and a forceful response is being given.” – said Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan. A state of emergency has been declared in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Meanwhile, tension is rising among the civilians fearing harm and military escalation.
Although the international committee, including the United Nations and the United States and other global powers, urged both nations to de-escalate tension and come to a diplomatic point.
Flight operations around Jammu and Kashmir have been affected by border tension. IndiGo also released a statement informing passengers that “due to changing airspace conditions in the region,” Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Dharamsala have been affected by the operational crisis of flights.
SpiceJet and Air India have also cancelled flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar, Rajkot, and many other areas till noon.
Operation Sindoor is a strong response to the Pahalgam terror attack and shows zero tolerance against terrorism. Families of the Pahalgam victims have also expressed a sense of closure. On X, the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wrote “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” on his handle.
