Axiata onboards Didi Syafruddin Yahya as Independent Non-Executive Director
Axiata Group Berhad appointed Didi Syafruddin Yahya as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Yahya has 30 years of experience in finance, investment banking, and corporate governance. This appointment is a strategic move that aims to bolster the company’s financial investment and governance.
Yahya is currently the President Commissioner of PT. Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk and the Senior Independent Director at CIMB Group Holdings Berhad. He has held leadership positions in companies such as J.P. Morgan, Morgan Grenfell & Co. Limited, and Arthur Anderson & Co. These roles contributed significantly to the company and also spanned the expertise of Yahya in the investment banking sector.
“Didi’s extensive leadership experience and financial acumen are highly valuable to Axiata’s future strategy. His expertise in governance, risk oversight, and investment management will strengthen our board as we continue driving sustainable growth,” expressed Shahril Ridza Ridzuan, Chairman of Axiata.
The Group CEO and Managing Director of Axiata, Vivek Sood, expressed confidence in the new appointment, “Didi’s deep understanding of investment strategies, corporate finance, and governance will be instrumental in Axiata’s strategic focus on portfolio alignment and value creation.”
